XC Comms was founded by Alan Rouse, who has over 40 years experience as a hardware and software engineer. The company can both design and manufacture electronic equipment.

The design experience is based on communication equipment and, more specifically, telemetry systems.  In 1987 Alan formed ASE Datacomms Ltd, through which he designed, manufactured and marketed a telemetry system designated VTS.  He then formed a relationship with Dynamic Logic whereby they took over marketing and sales.  In 1992 Dynamic Logic bought ASE Datacomms and employed Alan as their Engineering Manager.  He then moved on to Churchill Controls, where he designed all of the products they currently market, including their Micro_Link and Nano_Link products. More recently he designed their flagship Mega_Link product, for which he still provides technical support.

These products were all designed from scratch, and Alan single-handedly derived the product concept, defined the mechanical construction, developed the electronics, designed the PCB’s and wrote the software.

XC Comms also owns the rights to a number of legacy communication modules that were originally offered by ATS Telemetry Ltd and/or Ford Communications Ltd. These include a range of modems and filters that are still being used by companies such as Siemens and Bombardier.
